Hon'ami Koetsu

Hon'ami Koetsu, a connoisseur who lived in the same era as Sen no Rikyu and Furuta Oribe.

Although he was an accomplished artist himself, he pursued his own style of refinement while leading a group of artisans, just like a modern-day creative director.

His gorgeous aesthetic is powerful yet graceful at the same time, and this dynamism, with its arbitrariness, skillfully transcends two-dimensional and three-dimensional compositions.

I can't help but feel that it has something in common with the worldview of Solakzade and Last Store.

A world of incredible scale, captured with exquisite craftsmanship.

Koetsu is known as the founder of the Rinpa school, and his personal world of aesthetic sense was passed down to future generations.
What kind of "bleed" can we leave behind in the great flow of history?
